SUMMARY:Temple Fang
DESCRIPTION:Hailing from Amsterdam\, the Dutch quartet has been steadily destroying stages and enchanting\naudiences since 2018 with their hard hitting yet elegant longform compositions\, building an\nenormous reputation for themselves as a live band that always delivers and never repeats itself.\nFreak Valley\, Roadburn\, Desertfest\, Sonic Blast\, Palp\, Krach am Bach\, Sonic Whip and many\nmore festivals were all brought under the spell of these Dutch psych wizards.\nEssentially operating as a DIY collective\, the band has been putting out records themselves with\nthe help of their friends of Electric Spark\, focusing mainly on live recordings\, as the band\nconsidered themselves an alive and breathing organism not to be confined to ‘definite’ versions\nof their songs as they would appear on a studio record.\nThe band’s 2021 release “Fang Temple” was approached as a hybrid of live and studio\, with the\nband taking recordings of shows as a base to work off of in the studio\, and was met by rave\nreviews by critics and fans\, taking even the band by surprise.\nThey took it one step further in 2022 with their Jerusalem/The Bridge EP\, containing the first full\nstudio recordings the band had ever done.\nWith new drummer Daan Wopereis joining the band in the summer of ’23\, Temple Fang decided\nto take some time off the road to retool the band for a new chapter\, one where new things would\nbe possible\, new ideas encouraged and old skin shed. And ultimately\, to create a version of\nTemple Fang that would surpass anything they had dared to do before.\nWhen legendary German label Stickman records approached them and offered them creative\nfreedom\, it was a no-brainer. A label that works with Motorpsycho\, Elder\, King Buffalo\, Slomosa\,\nFull Earth and fellow Dutchies Iron Jinn would certainly be the right family to join for this new\nchapter of the band.\nThe band has been holed up in their Amsterdam bunker all year working on their Stickman\ndebut\, their first all-studio full length\, only to occasionally leave it for small tours to road-test the\nnew material and keep their gears oiled.\nIn 2025 with a new album under their belt\, the band will hit the road hard with a newfound fury\nand a commitment to really rock.\nMind-bending riffs\, triple vocal harmonies\, dubbed out bass and groovy yet hard hitting drums\,\necstatically rocking and truly psychedelic\, Temple Fang delivers it all with love. Longform rock for\nfans of Motorpsycho\, The Grateful Dead\, Hawkwind and Hendrix.\nRock n’ Roll as a means to attaining spiritual freedom\, right on! \nTemple Fang is:\nDennis Duijnhouwer: Vox\, Bass\nJevin de Groot: Vox\, Guitar\nIvy van der Veer: Vox\, Guitar\nDaan Wopereis: Drums \n“Mega-cosmic psychedelia\, a blend of atmospheres conjured through effects\, gradual builds\nand patient craft.”\nThe Obelisk\n“A guitar orchestra\, a guitar hurricane! These are guys that breathe space rock\, gray-haired\nfrom head banging\, their fingers crooked from playing pentatonic and mixolydian scales”\n3voor12\n“They have a way of making energy flow between them and with the audience\, with surgical riffs\nand melodies\, always groovy and spacey\, finding the right balance between instinctive jamming\nand prog-like elaborate composition\, giving it all a sense of epicness without ever crossing the\nline to overdoing it”\nMore Fuzz\n“I always thought I needed a cliché ‘desert experience’ to reach an epiphany of total\nunderstanding\, but all it took was a visit to Roadburn and do some rituals with a four-piece from\nAmsterdam”\nRawkward Steve\, NMTH\n“Fantastic guitar work\, total persuasiveness”\nDe Volkskrant\n“Best live band in Holland right now”\nWillem Twee\, Den Bosch
